Dauby O’Connor & Zaleski, LLC (DOZ) was established in 1987 to provide accounting and auditing, tax, and consulting services to investors, sponsors, owners, developers, and managers of affordable housing communities and related entities. In addition, DOZ frequently works with not-for-profit entities engaged in various community development endeavors.

DOZ is a new perspective on the national accounting firm.

The firm annually provides various accounting and auditing, consulting, and tax services to over 3,100 entities owning and managing affordable housing communities, real estate entities, and other endeavors located throughout the United States, encompassing 46 states.

Vision

DOZ’s truly differentiating factors are our processes and client experience.  DOZ offers complete and comprehensive services for practitioners in affordable housing and community development.  These services are not restricted to year-end audits and tax return engagements, but also expand to consulting services for projects in pre-development and lease up, investor underwriting, exit strategies, and corporate processes.

In the course of the engagement, we will look at how we can help you improve business processes, capitalize on opportunities, and offer technical expertise from our high level, industry focused staff.

History

In 1987, Steve Dauby and Sean O’Connor formed Dauby O’Connor, a two-man firm located in Indianapolis, Indiana.  A year later, Ted Zaleski joined to create DOZ.

DOZ has celebrated more than 25 years providing accounting, auditing and tax services.  Our growth has been fueled by our understanding of the industries we serve and focus on processes to promote quality and efficient results.  Our single office structure ensures timeliness and quality services provided at prices that regularly compete with smaller, local firms.  When combined with our technical expertise, the DOZ process allows us to offer a client experience that stands alone.

DOZ’s strategy to meet the demands of this consistent growth has been simple; provide only the highest level of client service at affordable prices. We are very much aware that the employees of DOZ are the most important resource. Our ability to grow is consistent with our ability to develop our staff to be proficient in all areas of each engagement.  This includes planning and preparation, which is as much a part of our success as the execution of each engagement.  DOZ does not waste time with unnecessary procedures, and the work is done right the first time.

Since the firm’s inception, we have strived to maintain consistent, planned growth of the firm.   We do not take on more new work if we cannot deliver services timely, efficiently, and accurately.  We recognize that the continued growth and success of DOZ is contingent on our ability to provide superior client service.
